Použití takto silného filtru, kterému se též říká "svářečské sklo" je ideální především pro pořizování efektních fotografií oblohy. Pokud chceme, aby efekt vypadal zajímavě, tzn. aby obloha na fotografii působila dramaticky, je optimální, pokud exponujeme za silnějšího větru a polojasné oblohy. Tyto dva faktory, společně se zajímavou kompozicí, jsou klíčem k úspěchu. Co se techniky fotografování týče, 90% svých snímků pořizuji v režimu priorita clony, protože faktor volby hloubky ostrosti je pro mne zásadní. Úskalím při použití filtru ND 1000x je občas problematické ostření, a tak doporučuji před nasazením filtru přepnout na manuální ostření a přes Live view zvolit kompozici a celou scénu si ručně naostřit. Používám ostření do 1/3 kompozice snímku, které by mělo společně se správně zvoleným clonovým číslem zaručit, že fotografie bude kompletně ostrá od popředí do nekonečna. Tento filtr bych doporučil všem příznivcům kreativní fotografie, kteří se nebojí experimentovat a rádi při svých záběrech vymýšlí nové věci.
Použití filtru ND 1000x
Na podzim 2011 jsem se s dalšími fotografy účastnil setkání, kde jsem měl poprvé možnost zahlédnout silný efektový šedý filtr ND 1000x. Po konzultaci s Michalem Baladou jsem vybral typ od firmy BW. Právě Michalovy fotky z Islandu, kde tento fitr hojně používal, mně přesvědčily o jeho pořízení.
